19th May 2015

On Tuesday wildlife club were lucky enough to have another guest speaker!  Mrs. Silversides gave a very interesting talk about owls.  We found out lots of information including when they like to hunt, how far they can turn their necks and what they like to eat.  Mrs Silversides also passed on very important information about what to do if you see a baby deer on its own at this time of year.  Although it looks like it has been abandoned chances are it's mother will return to care for it at some point so you must not be tempted to move it.  Moving a baby deer may result in the baby being rejected by it's mother.  If you are concerned the best thing to do is call your local vet.  Wildlife club would like to say a big "Thank you" to Mrs Silversides for her talk and for the exciting owl competition she has helped to organise.
