Film Club

Tuesday 22nd March 2016

We finished on a high note as we enjoyed the magical musical Bedknobs and Broomsticks. It was thrilling to watch the child characters join apprentice witch, Angela Lansbury in an attempt to find a spell to help save Britain from a German invasion.

Tuesday 23rd February 2016

We settled down to the first half of Duma, the emotional tale of a relationship between a young boy and an orphaned cheetah cub. As Duma (the Swahili name for “cheetah”) reaches maturity Xan comes under pressure from society to have Duma placed in captivity. To save his friend from this fate Xan embarks on an exciting adventure across South Africa. On the way Xan and Duma have met a mysterious drifter and we are very much looking forward to finding out what happens to the trio next week.

Tuesday 9th February 2016

Well, what fun as we watched the conclusion to "One of our Dinosaur's is Missing".  All of the children enjoyed the twist at the end which we won't reveal in case you catch up with this classic British comedy! We discussed our favourite characters together and shared parts of the film which made us laugh the most. Stay tuned for more film reviews after half term.

Tuesday 2nd February 2016

"One of Our Dinosaurs is Missing" much hilarity as a dinosaur is stolen from the Natural History Museum in an attempt to retrieve a microfilm of the formula for the mysterious "Lotus X". Will the nannies save the day or will the dastardly spies retrieve the microfilm first? Film clubbers will find the answer to these and many other questions about this film next week!

Tuesday 26th January 2016

At the beginning of this session, we had to write a review of "Valiant".  After much deliberation, the best review has been judged to be the one written by...... Charlie Blades!

"Valiant" is a brilliant film that will have you flapping with laughter.  Will the brave pigeon deliver the message or will the falcon get in his way?  I rate this film *** out of *****"

Tuesday 19th January 2016

We finished watching Valiant, the story of the woodland pigeon who hopes to become a hero against the backdrop of World War Two. Valiant is put to the test as he falls behind enemy lines before finishing his basic training! Now we have watched the film, next week we plan to write reviews with the best appearing on the school website so stay tuned!

Tuesday 12th January 2016

Film club got off to a flying start on Tuesday as we watched the animated comedy Valiant! The film tells the tale of a small but brave pigeon who will do anything to join the Royal Homing Pigeon corps during hostilities. We're looking forward to finding out what happens to him next Tuesday. Many thanks to Mrs. Harland for our delicious popcorn!

Jimmy Neutron-Boy Genius (U)

A funny, silly and brilliantly animated melting pot of lively entertainment. Despite a number of malfunctioning gadgets, inventor whizz-kid Jimmy is successful in his attempts to contact aliens. It backfires spectacularly, however, when slimy green creatures from outer space descend and abduct the town's adults. After a day of riotous fun for the children, they soon miss their caring parents. Desperate to undo all the trouble, Jimmy attempts to create a space rescue fleet out of carnival rides.
